I had the privilege of receiving an advanced reader copy of Night of the Witch from Source Books and Netgalley. I must express my sincere astonishment and gratitude for the opportunity to be one of the first to experience this exceptional novel.
As a reader, I am not well-versed in the intricacies of co-writing, however, this particular collaboration has resulted in a truly engaging, action-packed, and witty narrative. Despite being categorized as young adult literature, I found myself fully immersed in the story from start to finish. The characters were dynamic, intricately developed, and exuded fortitude. The plot unfolded seamlessly, complete with unexpected twists that added depth and intrigue. Even the inclusion of romance, a genre I typically avoid, was executed masterfully, evoking a sense of warmth and comfort akin to a hot toddy.
While the Salem Witch Trials are a well-known piece of history, this novel offered a refreshing and enlightening perspective by delving into the culture of another society. The shifting points of view, though present throughout the book, were deftly handled, akin to the harmonious melodies of a beloved song. Not a single beat or angle was missed, resulting in a truly immersive reading experience.
This is my first time reading anything by Sarah Raasch & Beth Revis and I am star-strikingly amazed. The world created in this book was reminiscent and so detailed that I haven’t felt I’ve been in the realm of a character since I was in Hogsmead while reading Harry Potter.
Absolutely 5 stars. I want all the autographs, All the books, All the witch hats. Can’t wait for book two. Conjuring for it to appear in my email.
